Thousands of Torontonians from all walks of life took to the streets on Earth Day 2017 to speak out for science and evidence-based research. The March for Science Toronto – one of 600 such events around the world decrying a move away from facts and scientific knowledge, came in solidarity with a similar march organized in Washington D.C.
"Politics should not be shaping science; science should be informing politics," said rally MC Dr. Rupinder Brar.
"(Science is) not an ideology – it’s a process. It’s a method that we employ for learning the truth and it’s under threat in many ways."
Similar to last year, the March will feature a diverse line-up of speakers to reflect on the need for evidence-based policy and safeguarding of scientific integrity in Canada - and around the world.
Scientists and scientific institutions need to do better to ensure the voices of marginalized groups are amplified, and that actionable steps are taken to increase diversity within the research community.
The 19-inch standard rack rails allow up to 12U or 21U components (17 inches deep) to be stacked inside, concealed within a traditionally-finished cabinet in a choice of colors.
The cabinet includes key-locked front and rear doors for easy access, with a black tinted acrylic panel in the front door as well as unobtrusive ventilation openings.
The cabinet also contains a quiet UL-listed fan to cool components. Inside, units plug into a six-outlet power strip with surge suppressor, connected to a ten-foot external power cord. The entire cabinet can be moved easily on sturdy 3” rolling casters, the front two of which can be locked in place.

Pro Sound News magazine is a leading provider of news in the professional sound production industry, covering the latest innovative technologies and trends in the field. When Pro Sound News writer Strother Bullins recently reviewed our new SW925 Digital Audio Travel Partner Plus portable PA system, we couldn’t help but take notice.
"The SW925 package has proven to be incredibly outdoors-friendly. I’ve placed it in damp busking scenarios and similar party situations; it performed flawlessly everywhere I utilized it, garnering many compliments on its sound along the way from musicians, performers and clients alike."
In addition to being a durable and mobile sound system perfect for outdoor events that call for speeches to be made or music to be played, Bullins adds that the SW925 works well in a variety of other settings:
"Considering its extreme flexibility and ability to cover small to medium-sized club or conference hall settings, the SW925 is an ideal PPA for corporate venues, schools and houses-of-worship, as well as singer/songwriters and acoustic duos, scrappy DJs/ KJs and more."
"Buying into the company’s Travel Partner Plus line allows customers to build out a truly modular portable PA system, one that is relatively future-proof, rugged and upgradable.
That said, I don’t look forward to shipping this review unit back, as it’s a real joy and comfort to use with its trustworthy industrial (nearly military-grade) design elements and components."
We introduced the SW925 last year as an upgraded version of our SW915 Digital Audio Travel Partner. Our most complete, all-in-one complete PA system, the SW925 features a wealth of new features and enhancements, including better sound quality and longer battery life.
