AmpliVox Donation Raises Awareness and Support for Children of Fallen Heroes

AmpliVox Sound Systems will send its top-quality sound equipment across the country with a unique project that supports the children of fallen military, fire department, and law enforcement personnel.

The “Double Dog” Jeep Project, created by the non-profit America’s Children of Fallen Heroes, will send a one-of-a-kind customized Jeep to auto shows and special events across the US to collect expressions of appreciation and raise awareness of the challenges faced by survivor families.

AmpliVox will proudly donate its SW312 Wireless Sound Cruiser to equip the Double Dog Jeep with sound broadcast capability wherever it goes.

America’s Children of Fallen Heroes focuses on the needs of children who have lost a parent in public service.

Formed in October 2000 as Children of Fallen Soldiers, the organization expanded its name and mission to serve children of firefighters and law enforcement officers as well as military families.

Support efforts include the Dream Development Project, a 10-year commitment to these young people to empower them to clarify, build, live, and create a legacy from their dreams. The organization also collects written and videotaped Expressions of Appreciation from eventgoers, short messages of encouragement and thanks for the sacrifice made by their loved ones. These statements will be published in a book entitled On Behalf of a Grateful Nation, and will be included in a formal memorial.

The Double Dog Jeep Project will take to the road in 2016 with a schedule that will reach over a quarter million event participants. Outfitted with inspiring patriotic graphics, the Double Dog Jeep will have a roof-mounted SW312 Sound Cruiser system donated by AmpliVox.

The Sound Cruiser’s 50-watt amplifier and dual horn speakers can cover venues the size of a football field and audiences of up to 3000 people. The system includes a 16-channel UHF receiver, wireless headset and lapel microphones, and a body pack transmitter. The unit is powered via an included DC car adapter.

“The Double Dog Project takes its name from the leap of faith it takes to face challenges head-on; we “double dog dare” our youth to allow their adversities to forge the greatness that lies within them,” explains Chaplain Timothy “TIG” Heaslet II, CGSE, of America’s Children of Fallen Heroes.

“We are extremely grateful to AmpliVox and our other sponsors for helping us spread our message in this exciting project.”

“AmpliVox is honored to support the Children of Fallen Heroes through the Double Dog Jeep Project,” noted Don Roth, AmpliVox CEO.

“The families of our military and first responders deserve all our respect and gratitude. Our Sound Cruiser system will help this worthwhile organization raise awareness in a very effective and meaningful way.”

Buy American - Setting the Bar for Quality and Innovation

We’re all surrounded by iconic “American” brands that actually are now made overseas. Your favorite Levi’s were sewn in Costa Rica; your Chuck Taylor’s rode in on a freighter from Indonesia; your kids’ Barbie and Ken dolls were assembled in China, right down the road from your iPhone’s assembly plant. Even the baseballs that are at the core of the World Series are stitched and shipped from other countries. It’s particularly sad that “Made in America” products are so hard to find because consumers strongly prefer to buy them: according to a Consumer Reports survey, 60 percent of us would buy American-made items even if we had to pay 10 percent more for them. Americans value the quality of US-made goods, as well as the importance of maintaining manufacturing jobs here in America.

At AmpliVox, we’re proud that the vast majority of our products are assembled, packaged, and distributed from our headquarters in Northbrook, Illinois, where we’ve been based since the 1950s. AmpliVox maintains its own design, engineering, technology, manufacturing, and woodshop teams, all based in Northbrook, and we strictly control the creation of every AmpliVox product from beginning to end. In cases where the best quality component elements are found off-shore, we only select vendors who share our commitment to excellence, and all imported materials are subject to rigorous testing by our in-house experts. In the interests of full transparency, products that contain non-US materials are clearly identified in our sales materials.

We firmly believe that AmpliVox’s products, predominantly made in the US, set the bar for quality and innovation in our industry. We are also committed to supporting American jobs, enforcing sustainable practices, practicing energy efficiency, and reducing waste. Keeping our manufacturing process close to home has ensured the character of our products and inspired our employees’ pride in the results of their work. When you’re looking for the opportunity to “Buy American”, be sure to remember the AmpliVox promise of complete satisfaction.

Vince Lombardi’s Top 5 Principles To Winning

Legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi took his team to three successive and five NFL championship titles, many view him as one of the most successful coaches in NFL history.

Football is a sport based on the fundamentals of winning, strength, speed, and self-discipline. One could argue the fundamentals of a successful life are much the same.
  • What were the ingredients to Lombardi’s team success?
  • Could his concepts and tactics benefit others?
  • How does AmpliVox’s concepts for success compare to Lombardi’s principles?
Vince expressed there are “5 principles of a successful football team":

1. Plan to Win
Lombardi’s first principle of a successful football team is the “Plan to Win”. AmpliVox's plan to win relies heavily on our customer service reputation!

Customer Service: AmpliVox considers customer service its top priority. We pride ourselves on responding promptly and accurately to every request.

We value customer feedback and respond with meaningful, proactive solutions to improve every aspect of the customer service experience.

2. Hard Work
Lombardi’s second principle of a successful football team is "Hard-work: The Crucial Second Effort”.

AmpliVox makes the crucial second effort to audiences with marketing tools such as our newest catalog and our social media channels.

Our new 2015-16 catalog is out, the 56 page e-book features all of our current products as well as detail shots, color information, and dimension details.

3. Discipline
Lombardi’s third principle of a successful football team is "Discipline”. AmpliVox is proud of the consistent quality of our portable PA systems and lecterns.

Our commitment to excellence in design, testing, and quality control has made AmpliVox an industry leader for product development and production. Our employees are committed to consistently provide the finest PA systems and presentation equipment that can be produced.

AmpliVox also strives to stay consistent in providing quality products for the following industries: Education, Hospitality, Public Safety, Athletics, and House of Worship.

4. Planning Ahead
Lombardi’s fourth principle of a successful football team is "Planning Ahead”. Planning ahead for mistakes, failures, and disasters makes AmpliVox different from its competitors.

AmpliVox is a proud supporter of emergency planning for unforeseen disasters. Effective communication is vital when a crisis occurs.

Disaster preparedness plans should equip all emergency personnel to handle any obstacle and keep communication lines available.

5. Confidence
Lombardi’s fifth principle of a successful football team is "Confidence”. AmpliVox is proud of the quality products we manufacture daily.

Our goal is to ensure that the AmpliVox image is reliable and trustworthy. Utilizing social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn ensures the authenticity of AmpliVox, and displays the confidence we have in our products to deliver in the presentation setting.

We also offer subscription options to our blogging channel and "Ampli-blast" emails that allow audiences to stay current with all AmpliVox updates. We encourage communication and building relationships through the efficiency of our products.

Vince Lombardi’s Top 5 Principles To Winning are guided through leadership and executed with teamwork. AmpliVox is successful because of the foundations the company is built on, a plan to win, hard-work, discipline, preparation, and confidence in what we represent.

NAA Hall of Fame 2015 Inductee: AmpliVox Dealer Kurt Kiefer

Kurt Kiefer, an AmpliVox dealer from Kiefer Auction Supply, was inducted into the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame at the NAA 2015 Conference and Show by 2013 inductee Tommy Williams, CAI.

When Williams was elected president of the NAA in 2008, he brought Keifer back to the executive board. Kiefer had served a term as treasurer beginning in 1990 and Williams wanted him back to handle the organization's finances.

"No one has been more important to the overall financial integrity of the NAA than Kurt Kiefer", Williams said.

"Kurt has the ability to look at financial situations and prioritize things as well as anybody I've ever met".

Kiefer and his company perform live real estate auctions and has taken the majority of his auction business online.

He's specialized in inventory for the last 15 years and is a big fan of the AmpliVox Half-Mile Hailer PA System.

"The half mile hailer has been the auctioneers best friend for nearly half a century", Kiefer said.

"It was my first sound system I bought in 1980 as I started as an auctioneer in Ft. Lauderdale. We started selling "the Hailer" in the mid-1980s to other auctioneers.

In more than 30 years of selling "Hailers" we know it's still #1 in the auction industry with the best warranty and support in professional sound."

"Today's Hailer is a much improved sound system than 30 years ago but still carries the auctioneers voice half a mile and give you command of the crowd at any size auction.

You can spend a lot more and still not be anywhere nearly as good as a "hailer". I still have my original Hailer from 35 years ago, and it still works fine. Investing in quality always makes sense.

AmpliVox congratulates Kurt Kiefer for his accomplishments and commends him for his efforts and support of the auctioneering community.

Eagle Scout Ceremony at NSYMCA

Daniel Silver always enjoyed helping his mother raise vegetables in their backyard garden. His early passion grew into a service project at the North Suburban YMCA that inspires children to learn about gardening, and earned him the status of Eagle Scout from Boy Scouts of America.

His accomplishments were honored in a Court of Honor Ceremony on Sunday, August 23. Our Victoria Lectern and speaker system offered a dignified touch to the event, and helped troop leaders and speakers share Daniel's accomplishments without raising their voices.

Florida Corvette Club Autocross Events

The Florida Corvette Club in central Florida brings together Corvette enthusiasts, providing fellowship among Corvette owners through their events.

Club activities include:
  • Car Cruise shows
  • Autocross events
  • Club Social nights
  • Road Trips
  • and monthly club meetings

At their latest autocross event last weekend, an AmpliVox S602R Megaphone was used to direct the crowd, make announcements and call the cars to the starting line.

An autocross is a timed competition in which drivers navigate one at a time through a defined course on either a sealed or an unsealed surface, racing against the clock. It is a form of motorsports that emphasizes safe competition and active participation. It also allows the Corvette owners to put their cars and their driving skills to the test.

AmpliVox S602R Megaphone being used to call cars to the starting line

Autocross courses are typically one to two kilometres long and tend to place demands on car handling and driver skill rather than on engine power and outright speed. Courses may be temporary and marked by traffic cones or be permanent tracks with approval by a motorsport body.

"It worked great!", said Don Hershiser, President of the Florida Corvette Club.

The sponsoring club did not have a megaphone so we let them use it to call cars to the starting line. We do multiple car shows and Autocross events each month, and will always be bringing the AmpliVox megaphone along."

2nd Annual Hike 4 Better Hearing - Making A Difference With AmpliVox

The Fisher Foundation held its 2nd Annual Hike 4 Better Hearing walk on August 29 2015, where AmpliVox had donated a S602R Megaphone to help the announcers address the crowd. The 5K walk helps to further the public’s awareness of the importance and benefits of hearing better.

The first Hike 4 Better Hearing walk last September raised $15,000 and enabled 6 people and their extended families to be reunited once again. In addition, they brought hearing health awareness to dozens of communities, facilities, and health care professionals. They want to help 12 families this year and continue to raise hearing health awareness in communities.

The Fisher Foundation for Hearing Health Care is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life through better hearing.

Dr. Ronna Fisher, Au.D., founded Hearing Health Center in 1984 because of her personal experience with her father who had significant hearing problems. It affected his life and the lives of his spouse, children, friends and co-workers.

Dr. Fisher established The Fisher Foundation for Hearing Health Care in 2008 to provide hearing health care to those who cannot afford treatment.

Since then, the Fisher Foundation has been providing hearing aids, as well as our professional time and services to patients, conducting community seminars to promote hearing awareness, and donating ear protection to our troops.

They provide educational seminars, counseling, and research in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs in order to raise public awareness of the acute importance of protection, detection, and treatment of hearing disorders to creating overall good health.

They are a resource that others may turn to for assistance when they have no other access or funding for hearing health care.

Research has proven that the ability to hear directly affects physical, emotional, social and cognitive well being. Unfortunately, people are often unaware of the devastating consequences of untreated hearing problems. Therefore, it is essential to raise awareness about the importance of regular hearing checkups. Like cholesterol, blood pressure and colonoscopies, early detection and treatment are critical and can be lifesaving.

AmpliVox will continue to support The Fisher Foundation and their efforts.

AmpliVox Gets Moment in the Spotlight on America’s Got Talent

For Don Roth, CEO of Northbrook-based AmpliVox, it is always a treat to see his company’s products pop up in unexpected places.

A few months ago, his phone started ringing when friends saw an AmpliVox megaphone being used to guide daredevil Nick Wallenda on his blindfolded tightrope walk between Chicago’s Marina Towers.

Then on July 22, a similar megaphone was spotted on the NBC-TV’s “America’s Got Talent.”

In a short clip, a product staff member uses the AmpliVox Mity-Meg to deliver instructions to hundreds of contestants as they wait to audition.

That same week, a similar megaphone was pictured in a local paper being used at a community sidewalk sale.

"Our megaphones are extremely versatile, so it’s not really a surprise to see them used in so many ways," notes Roth.

"They’re lightweight, powerful, and run for hours on rechargeable batteries. It’s no wonder that they’re so popular."

Fallen Marines and Sailor Honored with Help from AmpliVox Sound Systems

US Marines, Naval Officers, veterans and community members gathered on July 25 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois for a somber and dignified ceremony in memory of armed forces members killed by a gunman in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

They were joined by 10th District Congressman Bob Dold, who came to honor the four marines and one sailor who died at the Chattanooga Navy Reserve Center on July 16, 2015.

The outdoor service was enhanced by the use of a portable PA from AmpliVox Sound Systems, based in nearby Northbrook, Illinois.

The system used at the ceremony, AmpliVox’s SW915 Digital Audio Travel Partner, is a convenient and versatile all-in-one system for indoor or outdoor use.

The 250-watt amplifier clearly projects voices for audiences up to 7,500 people, and its built-in Bluetooth™ module enables music streaming directly from smartphones or other devices.

The portable unit runs for up to 10 hours on its rechargeable batteries, allowing for easy set-up in outdoor venues.

“AmpliVox is honored to have been part of this important remembrance ceremony at Fort Sheridan,” noted Don Roth, AmpliVox CEO.

“Our products are frequently used in houses of worship and similar settings where reliability and clarity of sound are of utmost importance. We’re indebted to all members of the armed services for the many sacrifices they make, and proud to play any part we can in sharing these messages of support.”
