AmpliVox Sound Systems has been honored as a Platinum Award Winner in the Homeland Security Awards sponsored by American Security Today magazine.
American Security Today’s comprehensive Homeland Security Awards Program was organized to recognize the most distinguished vendors of physical, IT, port security, law enforcement, and first responders, in acknowledgment of their outstanding efforts to ‘Keep our Nation Secure, One City at a Time.’
AmpliVox’s Radio Hailer received the ASTOR Award as the Best Disaster Preparedness/Disaster Recovery System.
The award was presented on November 16 at the 2016 ISC East Show in New York City.
The innovative AmpliVox Radio Hailer is a vital tool for response teams, especially in large emergencies that demand quick, clear communication from response personnel to operation leaders, team members, and civilians.
It provides a portable, battery-operated system that brings “grab and go” voice coverage to widespread areas, even when disaster has knocked out communication. The Radio Hailer connects to two MURS radios with one acting as the receiver, the other as the transmitter.
Users can establish multiple zone sites, broadcasting from up to one mile away. The system includes a 50-watt amplifier, an 11” horn speaker that delivers 108 dB of clear sound, and a 120dB warning siren.
Centralized decision-making saves crucial time and eliminates potentially dangerous confusion.
The audio coverage of the Radio Hailer’s amplifier and speaker is powerful enough to deliver instructions either indoors or out, enabling emergency crews to manage crowds consistently and safely.
"We appreciate this recognition of the Radio Hailer as an outstanding disaster response communication system," said Don Roth, CEO of AmpliVox.
"Its versatility, power, and durability make it an excellent system for all types of emergency situations, including public safety, education, industrial, and corporate settings."
