AmpliVox Donates Megaphones To The American Red Cross Indiana Region

AmpliVox donated a dozen SB602R Mity-Meg 25-Watt Rechargeable Megaphones to the American Red Cross Indiana Region that serves 6.3 million Hoosiers in 87 counties.

The American Red Cross has been serving the people of Indiana for more than 100 years, preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies.

Through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, the American Red Cross is always there in times of need to help people affected by disaster to receive care, shelter and hope.

The American Red Cross also offers the collection, processing and distribution of blood and blood products, educational programs on preparedness, in addition to communications services and comfort for military service and family members.

AmpliVox’s Mity-Meg Rechargeable Megaphones will provide reliable, powerful sound amplification for Red Cross efforts, improving crowd control and communication between team members.

The SB602R Mity-Meg is a lightweight, weather-resistant design unit, delivering sound coverage of up to a mile with talk, whistle, and siren modes.

An integrated lithium-ion rechargeable battery and AmpliVox-exclusive power indicator light keeps the unit running for up to eight hours of typical use.

Weighing just two pounds, the Mity-Meg carries easily with the included wrist strap and comfortable pistol grip.

"We plan to use the megaphones for events", says Duchess Adjei, Regional Communication Director at the American Red Cross – Indiana Region.

"Our region-wide team cannot thank you enough for Amplivox’s support for providing us these great tools for our use."

To enhance communication at disaster scenes and other vital operations, AmpliVox provided its signature Mity-Meg Rechargeable Megaphones to the American Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois in April 2016.

The Chicago Region received twelve of the versatile portable sound systems, ten for disaster relief teams and two for Red Cross events sponsored by its Communications Department.

Beyond disaster relief, the Chicago Region delivers Community Disaster Education, First Aid/CPR, HIV/AIDS prevention, and life-saving health and safety training to thousands of people to help people prevent, prepare, and respond to emergencies.

"We are grateful for the generous gift from AmpliVox Sound Systems,” said Harley Jones, Regional Disaster Officer, American Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois.

"This technology will be useful when our volunteers are delivering relief items to communities affected by disasters like tornadoes and floods, and also during preparedness activities, such as our smoke alarm installation rallies."
