Don Roth, CEO of AmpliVox Sound Systems, was among the honorees at the
2014 Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards sponsored by The Daily Herald Business Ledger.
Roth received a “Regional Spirit” award, which The Business Ledger’s recognizes suburban Chicago entrepreneurs who “demonstrate commitment to the growth and well-being of the region through outstanding corporate citizenship and promotion of regional ties.”
Northbrook-based AmpliVox designs, manufactures, and distributes high-quality sound equipment, lecterns, and integrated multimedia presentation furniture.
As CEO and owner, Roth has pursued innovative cause marketing donation campaigns that provide appropriate AmpliVox equipment to worthy organizations.
Donations have included;
- Pink podiums and megaphones to breast cancer awareness groups
- Powerful “Half Mile Hailer” PA systems to Special Olympics Illinois
- Portable sound equipment to the North Suburban YMCA
- and a variety of other community support initiatives
In 2014, AmpliVox launched an online “Community Contribution Club” that enables organizations to apply for donations quickly and easily.
“I’m very honored and grateful to receive this award,” noted Roth. “AmpliVox has always embraced the belief that giving back to the community makes all of us stronger in the long run. We’re proud to support a diverse collection of organizations and individuals who are building a better world, and I hope this award inspires other companies and entrepreneurs to do the same.”
This year’s honor marks the second time that The Business Ledger has recognized Roth in the Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards: he received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. The 2014 awards was presented in a ceremony on September 18 at the Danada House in Wheaton, Illinois.
