ABC-7 Chicago Creates a Dignified Setting for Televised Chicago Mayoral Debate with AmpliVox Lecterns

The five main candidates for Mayor of Chicago joined in their first formal televised debate on February 6, and lecterns from AmpliVox Sound Systems were front and center for this landmark election event.

AmpliVox’s SN3100 Contemporary Lectern was chosen by the design team at WLS-TV, the host of the debate, to establish an elegant tone for the staging of the event.

Susan Mitchell, the Set Designer for WLS-TV, had only a limited amount of time to plan and assemble the set for the debate, which eventually would be viewed by tens of thousands of local viewers.

She turned to locally-based AmpliVox as a source that could provide top-quality lecterns on an expedited schedule.

Pleased with the overall look and well-made design, Mitchell was able to customize the lecterns with silver side panels that gave them their distinctive on-screen appearance.

Customization is a hallmark of AmpliVox’s wide-ranging collection of lecterns.

Available in a variety of materials, many AmpliVox lecterns can be special ordered with custom colors, logos, and sound system options.

The Contemporary 3100 lectern featured in the debates has a streamlined profile with a spacious reading surface, silver side uprights that are also available in black or custom colors, and a hidden rear shelf for water.

The reading surface and base are manufactured with a revolutionary technology resulting in an attractive and durable finish.

AmpliVox CEO Don Roth was proud to see his company’s products connected to such a significant political event.

“Our products are often used on the campaign trail. Everyone from Barack Obama to Sarah Palin has been photographed using our megaphones,” he comments.

“This is an especially exciting event because of its importance to our local community, and because we were able to meet the very specific needs of the event planners. The lecterns performed perfectly during the debate, and I look forward to seeing them in use on WLS in the future.”

AmpliVox Supports Celebrity Catwalk’s Valentine’s Day Fundraiser for Animal Welfare

Extreme weather and turbulent economic conditions stretch animal rescue organizations and shelters to the breaking point.

Fortunately, Celebrity Catwalk works with many of them in hopes of connecting stray pets with new owners, promoting pet adoption, and raising funds to support local shelters.

Every year, Hollywood’s biggest celebrities, including the likes of Jamie Foxx and Melissa Rivers, lend their time and talent to Celebrity Catwalk-hosted fundraisers.

The group’s latest event, the Fire & Ice Gala, will be held on February 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at SPOT Chelsea in New York City.

Guests attending the fundraiser will enjoy an exquisite brunch, including cocktails and desserts, in addition to a silent auction and raffles benefitting local animal welfare groups.

Emmy Award nominated journalist Jill Nicolini, Lori-Ann Marchese of Bravo TV’s Game of Crowns, and Chrissy Monroe from VH1’s Love & Hip Hop will also be on hand taking pictures with guests — and their pets!

Events this big and causes this important require a sound system up to the task, which is why we are providing Celebrity Catwalk with the SW800 Titan Wireless Portable PA System, which will ensure that every guest at the Gala will hear the speeches and announcements pristine clarity.

Packing a powerful 100-watt amplifier that covers audiences of up to 2,500 people and rooms up to 10,000 square feet, the Titan is worthy of its name.

9th Annual NSYMCA Strong Kids Fundraiser

For years AmpliVox has been helping the community by supporting the North Suburban YMCA and will also be participating at the 9th Annual Ken and Alta Thiel NSYMCA Strong Kids Fundraiser being held on February 26th at Pinstripes in Northbrook IL.

YMCA Strong Kids is an annual fundraising campaign focused on raising much needed resources to support proven YMCA programs that give kids the opportunities they need to reach their full potential: to live healthier, happier lives today, and grow into productive adults in the future.

The North Suburban YMCA keeps their promise to serve the community by making their programs, services and facilities available to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

Often times, when families face financial hardships they are forced to give up the things that enhance their quality of life. At the Y they believe that every child, family and individual should have access to the life changing programs they offer, never turning away any child that is in need of services due to their inability to pay.

Supporting the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign directly helps children, teens and young adults in their community. Donations will help the YMCA to ensure people of all ages are healthier and more productive regardless of their background or financial situation.

This means:
  • Helping a struggling family to enjoy fun filled activity at their local YMCA
  • Helping a child learn to swim
  • Helping a teen to learn to lead and feel success
  • Enabling a child to participate in a recreation or physical activity
  • Enabling a family to use a trusted, quality child care

The 9th Annual NSYMCA Strong Kids Fundraiser will be held at Pinstripes in Northbrook IL:

When you buy tickets, donate or support the Strong Kids Financial Assistance Fund you are ensuring that the children in our service area will be be more confident, connected and secure through Y programs.
