Midwest Clinic 70th Annual Conference

2016 marks the 70th anniversary of the very first clinic and conference back in 1947.

The Midwest Clinic is gearing up to celebrate the last seven decades of leading the music and music education industry with an array of new clinics and rehearsal labs.

Whether you’re a music educator that’s been in the business for decades or a college student who’s just getting started, these presentations offer a wealth of knowledge and insight that can’t be found at any other music conference in the world.

The Midwest Clinic began on Dec. 7, 1946, when approximately 120 directors from the Chicago area assembled in a YMCA gymnasium on Chicago’s West Side for a six-hour clinic and new music reading session.

In the earliest years of the "Midwest Clinic," the organizers invited outstanding bands to perform, based upon the reputations of the organization and its director.

In addition to giving a formal concert, the bands were also expected to provide a sight-reading session, with the selections being requested by audience members on the spur of the moment.

Today, The Midwest Clinic continues to feature performances by outstanding organizations, but now every group that desires to perform at the international music conference must first apply to do so.

AmpliVox's very own Dan Kreusch is at Booth #116 showcasing portable PA systems for all outdoor sound needs.

AmpliVox Wins Top Honors For Disaster Communication System

AmpliVox Sound Systems has been honored as a Platinum Award Winner in the Homeland Security Awards sponsored by American Security Today magazine.

American Security Today’s comprehensive Homeland Security Awards Program was organized to recognize the most distinguished vendors of physical, IT, port security, law enforcement, and first responders, in acknowledgment of their outstanding efforts to ‘Keep our Nation Secure, One City at a Time.’

AmpliVox’s Radio Hailer received the ASTOR Award as the Best Disaster Preparedness/Disaster Recovery System.

The award was presented on November 16 at the 2016 ISC East Show in New York City.

The innovative AmpliVox Radio Hailer is a vital tool for response teams, especially in large emergencies that demand quick, clear communication from response personnel to operation leaders, team members, and civilians.

It provides a portable, battery-operated system that brings “grab and go” voice coverage to widespread areas, even when disaster has knocked out communication. The Radio Hailer connects to two MURS radios with one acting as the receiver, the other as the transmitter.

Users can establish multiple zone sites, broadcasting from up to one mile away. The system includes a 50-watt amplifier, an 11” horn speaker that delivers 108 dB of clear sound, and a 120dB warning siren.

In a disaster situation, administrators and public safety personnel can coordinate efforts from a secure location without the need for telephone or electric service.

Centralized decision-making saves crucial time and eliminates potentially dangerous confusion.

The audio coverage of the Radio Hailer’s amplifier and speaker is powerful enough to deliver instructions either indoors or out, enabling emergency crews to manage crowds consistently and safely.

"We appreciate this recognition of the Radio Hailer as an outstanding disaster response communication system," said Don Roth, CEO of AmpliVox.

"Its versatility, power, and durability make it an excellent system for all types of emergency situations, including public safety, education, industrial, and corporate settings."
